  • Beacon addresses the concern from parents for their children’s online safety, along with confusion over where to get help and trusted advice
  • Organisations including the Fathering Project and the Office of the eSafety Commissioner supported the app’s development to ensure it met the needs of the target audience – parents and carers of children aged up to 18 years
  • More than 50 local, state and national organisations – including government, national cyber safety educators, the technology industry, nationally recognised support services and not-for-profit community organisations – support Beacon Australia-wide

Dolly's Dream

About Dolly's Dream

Dolly’s Dream was created by Kate and Tick Everett following the shattering loss of their 14-year-old daughter, Dolly, to suicide, after ongoing bullying. Kate and Tick’s goal is to prevent other families walking this road. They want to change the culture of bullying by addressing the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide, through education and direct support to young people and families. Dolly’s Dream is proudly brought to you by the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

About Telethon Kids Institute

Telethon Kids Institute is one of the largest and most successful medical research institutes in Australia. We've created a bold blueprint that brings together community, researchers, practitioners, policy makers and funders, who share our vision to improve the health and wellbeing of children through excellence in research.

The Institute is headed by leading paediatrician and infectious diseases expert Professor Jonathan Carapetis, with Founding Director Professor Fiona Stanley now Patron.

Telethon Kids is independent and not-for-profit. The majority of funding comes from our success in winning national and international competitive research grants.  We also receive significant philanthropic support from corporate Australia and the community.
