Research Officer

Samantha Veurink is a Research Officer within the Food and Nutrition Team at Telethon Kids Institute. Sam commenced her career as a Registered Nurse working in Western Australia’s leading paediatric and maternity hospitals. In 2012, Samantha extended her work into the public health space, combining her interests in research, education and children’s health. In 2017, Sam completed her Masters in Public Health focusing on the development of a nutrition education lesson planning framework integrating principles of effective pedagogy and student engagement, and a multiliteracies approach.

Over the last 10 years, Sam has worked across numerous child and adolescent health promotion projects and has extensive experience in school-based nutrition education and early childhood development. Sam has also previously worked as a Program Manager at Telethon Kids Institute and has considerable experience in providing leadership and management support to project teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality research outcomes.
