Hamsini is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Early Neurodevelopment and Mental Health team. Hamsini has a strong interest in the potential for physical activity and sport participation to support mental health and well-being outcomes. She is also interested in physical activity and health promotion in children with chronic conditions and the translation of research to practice.

Hamsini completed her PhD in 2023 focused on the potential for sport to promote physical activity and psychological well-being in middle-aged and older adults. She has extensive experience in conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses and her research has used both qualitative and quantitative methods. At Telethon Kids Institute, Hamsini is currently working on the Move to Improve project which aims to co-design a personalised exercise prescription service at Perth Children’s Hospital for children with chronic health conditions.

Hamsini has presented her research at several international conferences and has published research in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals. Prior to her role at Telethon Kids Institute, Hamsini has held positions as a Sessional Academic and Research Assistant at Curtin University.
