Sian is a Research Nurse with the BREATH team at Telethon Kids Institute, and she is passionate about child and adolescent lung health.

Sian has worked as a paediatric nurse since 2017, she began her career in Far Noth Queensland and moved to Perth Children’s Hospital in 2022. In 2023 Sian joined the Telethon Kids Institute to begin her research career. In her current role she works closely with the Respiratory Clinical Trials team, the Beat CF team, and the BREATH team, she is responsible for the data collection and clinical assessments of people with an array of respiratory illnesses and diseases.

Sian graduated with Bachelor of Nursing Science from James Cook University, and a Graduate Certificate specialising in Paediatric Nursing from the University of Tasmania.

Sian has spent many years working with at the bedside of everyday children and young people living with respiratory illnesses and has firsthand experience at the impact it can have on their lives. This gives her the knowledge and skill set to work as a Research Nurse focusing on respiratory health.
