Acting Senior Research Officer

Maxine is an Acting Senior Research Officer within the Early Years Systems Evidence team. Her role involves assisting senior researchers to design and conduct evaluation research contracted by the South Australian Department for Education. These projects focus on improving and informing system-wide supports, to promote the health and wellbeing of children and families in the early years. Some of these projects have included:

  • Evaluation of Education Family Conferences, to understand how the service addresses chronic non-attendance  
  • A scoping review of family engagement with universal screening services in the early years  
  • Collaboration with the South Australian Department for Education, to evaluate a School Mental Health Service pilot in preparation for a wider roll-out of the service  
  • Conducting literature and rapid reviews for the Department, to provide a synthesis of the literature to inform programs and evaluations

Maxine has previously worked in other research settings, which have focused on preventative approaches to support child and adolescent health and wellbeing. She is particularly interested in research that applies population health approaches to improve child and adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
