I am a researcher and advocate, committed to improving the quality of life for people by addressing mental health. I have a special interest in chronic conditions, particularly how to utilise positive psychology to improve the lives of people living with these debilitating conditions.
Through my undergraduate research at the University of Western Australia and Telethon Kids Institute, I am completing my honours thesis focused on the role of psychological capital (made up of four motivational components: hope, self-efficacy, resilience, and optimism) for people with chronic pain. I have also co-founded a national online pain support group for young people called Let’s Taco Bout It (@lets_taco_aboutit) through the Australian Pain Management Association. This work has allowed me to advocate for and support young people with chronic pain by consulting on government projects and educating through social media.
