Wendy is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Early Neurodevelopment and Mental Health team. Wendy has extensive experience working in the not-for-profit community sector, in aged care, disability and community services. Her research interests are intellectual disability, mental health, parenting and early childhood development, and she has a particular interest in the translation of research to practice to improve outcomes for children, families and communities.

Wendy completed her Masters by Research on ageing parent carers of adults with intellectual disability, and her PhD in 2021 focused the experiences of siblings with a brother or sister with intellectual disability. Her research has used qualitative research methods, particularly phenomenology.

In addition to her role at Telethon Kids Institute, Wendy is also a sessional lecturer at Edith Cowan University in the School of Arts and Humanities and has held positions at the University in peer support and research.  She is a member of the WA Social Research Network and the Early and Middle Career Researcher Network, ECU.
