Chief Operating Officer
Colin Smith is the Chief Operating Officer at Telethon Kids Institute, having joined the team in 2023 as a highly credentialed executive with deep strategic and operational experience in the financial services and energy sectors.
During his twelve-year tenure at Synergy, Colin maintained several roles including General Manager Customer Experience and Manager Corporate Strategy Implementation. He lead the rollout of several community programs specifically focusing on supporting vulnerable customers, including Synergy’s Family Violence program, life support energy access and energy affordability programs, working in collaboration with WACOSS, Jacaranda House and Financial Counsellor Network. It is this compassionate and purpose-driven attitude he brings to his role as COO at the Institute.
As a values-based leader, Colin has demonstrated success in developing high performing teams and unifying businesses to deliver improved operational performance.
Colin's leadership experience spans complex operating environments in strategy development and execution, operations, sales and customer service, culture development, analytics, community engagement and technology innovation. In addition, his capabilities include extensive people management skills, strategic planning and transforming organisations through culture and digital technology.
As a passionate mentor to emerging leaders, Colin spends a great deal of time advocating for workplace inclusion and diversity, ensuring opportunities are equitably shared. During his spare time, you'll find Colin out for a cycle, bushwalking, or traveling with family.
