Edgar Basto is originally from Bogota, Colombia. He holds undergraduate degrees in applied mathematics and engineering physics from the University of Western Australia and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, respectively.
Edgar is currently applying statistical techniques to reconstruct individualized gene networks in animal disease models. He also works as a data scientist for Ernst & Young, specializing in mining and healthcare.
Edgar is deeply interested in personalized healthcare and taking research from bench to bedside.
