it helps us make a big difference

Since 1990, the Telethon Kids Institute has played a critical role in improving the health and wellbeing of children and their families in the Western Australian community and beyond.

Today, Telethon Kids is one of Australia’s leading medical research institutes. Our researchers have contributed to discoveries that are making a difference for babies, kids, teens, mums and dads, families, and communities.

Through your generosity, the impact of Telethon Kids can be felt around the world – through research that uncovers how and why kids get sick and ways to make them better; through the translation of research into better policies, programs, services and treatments to tackle the complex challenges facing kids and families today; and through training the next generation of child health researchers.

We're working hard to save and improve the lives of children, though we can’t do it alone.

it's a group effort

We recognise that our work means nothing if we don't have input and support from our community – from you, the public, government, industry and other corporates, other research institutes, universities, consumers, and most importantly – from our children.

Every day we're inspired by the courage, dignity, and optimism that's displayed by the kids we work with. And every day, we strive to make their lives and the lives of future generations of children better.

How exactly do we go about doing this? It's simple: Discover. Prevent. Cure.

Discover.

We are discovering how and why childhood diseases develop, and we've never been in a stronger position. Advancements in research and technology, combined with our strong research track record and our global collaborations, mean we have a clearer path to make an impact.

Prevent.

We're working to cure childhood diseases through new and better therapies and interventions. We want kids to be able to live their lives to the healthiest and happiest, right here in our community - and around the world.

Cure.
