        Discover Day 2017 Wrap Up

        Thank you to everyone who came along to our 2017 Discover Day on Thursday October 5th – we hope you enjoyed yourself, we certainly did.

        Discover Day is a really important event in the Institute’s calendar and one we look forward to immensely every year. This year we broke all sorts of records with our bigger and better event:

        • More than 1000 sets of lungs were built at our Build a Lung activity
        • 22.5kgs of strawberries were crushed to show kids how to extract DNA
        • Around 40 litres of glue was used to make glitter calm down jars at our Feel Good with Glitter activity
        • More than 350 people went through the labs on tours
        • 2500 showbags were handed out and
        • 1000 sausages were sizzled on the BBQ

        We were thrilled to share our work with so many of you, and we hope that in the process we've inspired a new generation of researchers.
